NDC Zongo Caucus leader urges party leaders to respect Ayawaso East primary outcome
Alhaji Ismaila Ali Horoya, NDC Zongo Caucus Greater Accra Coordinator, has issued a statement calling on the party's Functional Executive Committee (FEC) and the Majority Caucus in Parliament to cease attempts to undermine the legitimate victory of Baba Jamal in the Ayawaso East parliamentary primary.
Alhaji Horoya described allegations of vote-buying as baseless and an insult to the integrity of party members.
He emphasised that delegates voted based on conscience and conviction, not inducement.
He warned that questioning the outcome could fuel tension and division within the party, which could have serious consequences for party cohesion and electoral fortunes.
The statement urged the FEC and the Majority Caucus to de-escalate the situation, allow peace to prevail, and rally behind Baba Jamal as the legitimately elected parliamentary candidate.
Alhaji Horoya stressed that unity is built on fairness, truth, and respect for the will of the people, and he expressed his support for Baba Jamal and the democratic process.
