NDC adopts bottom-to-top process for National Delegates' Conference on December 19
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has officially announced that its National Delegates Conference will be held on Saturday, December 19, 2026, to elect new national party leaders.
Speaking at a press briefing on Thursday, General Secretary Fifi Fiavi Kwatey outlined that the internal elections will follow a bottom-to-top process, beginning at the branch level, progressing through constituency and regional structures, and culminating at the national level.
He revealed that the filing of nominations for party positions will take place from Saturday, November 7, to Monday, November 9, 2026, while vetting of aspirants is scheduled for Thursday, November 12, and Friday, November 13, 2026.
The appeals process will be conducted on Sunday, November 15, and Monday, November 16, 2026, and the separate youth and women conference will be held on Saturday, December 12, 2026, ahead of the main congress.
Mr. Kwatey emphasised that the exercise is part of the NDC’s broader efforts to reorganise and strengthen its structures in preparation for the 2028 general elections.
“So that completes the very important edifice that is supposed to prepare for the next round of fighting for power in the country and also ensure that we continue the good job that we are doing,” he said.
