NPP Upper East Regional communications team suspends activities following helicopter tragedy

The Upper East Regional Communications team of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has announced a temporary suspension of all its activities in the wake of the tragic helicopter accident that claimed the lives of eight senior state officials on Wednesday, August 6, 2025.
In a statement signed by the Regional Communications Director, Peter Ayinbisa, the team expressed deep sorrow over the national tragedy, describing it as a moment of immense loss for the country.
“It is with profound sadness that the Upper East Regional Communication Team of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) announces a temporary suspension of its activities following the tragic helicopter accident,” the statement read.
The accident, which has sent shockwaves across Ghana, involved high-ranking government officials who were described by the NPP as “dedicated public servants who gave their lives in the line of duty.”
In a show of solidarity with grieving families, party members, and the nation at large, the NPP’s regional communications team has opted to suspend all media engagements and communication activities for the rest of the week.
“Our heartfelt condolences go out to the bereaved families, our fellow communicators, and all Ghanaians who are grappling with the pain of this immense loss,” Ayinbisa stated.
The party further called on all members and supporters to unite in prayer and reflection as the nation mourns.
“May the souls of the departed rest in peace, and may their legacy inspire us to serve our nation with the same dedication and commitment,” the statement concluded.
The suspension is expected to affect all radio and media engagements, press releases, and public commentary by the party’s regional communication team until further notice.
