NPP elects parliamentary candidates in orphan constituencies today

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has announced the scheduling of parliamentary primaries in 111 constituencies without sitting Members of Parliament on Saturday, December 2, 2023.
In a statement released by the party's national secretariat on November 23, 2023, protocols were outlined to ensure the fairness and integrity of the electoral process.
The party has advised constituency parliamentary election committees to use the same venues as the recently concluded presidential primary, among others.
However, Constituency Executive Committees are urged to coordinate with their respective Regional Executive Committees if a venue change is deemed necessary.
Regional Executive Committees are requested to inform the national party of any venue changes by Monday, November 27, 2023.
In constituencies where the party's MPs are serving, the process of choosing parliamentary candidates is scheduled for January 2024.
Mr Evans Nimako, the Director of Elections and Research for the NPP, emphasised that the party's leadership would not offer protection to any parliamentary aspirant during the primaries.
Nonetheless, he assured that a fair and unbiased environment would be maintained for all potential parliamentary aspirants, with no imposition of candidates.
