NPP holds stakeholder meeting with police, EC ahead of January 31 presidential primary
A joint stakeholder meeting has been held involving the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Presidential Elections Committee, the Ghana Police Service and the Electoral Commission as part of preparations for the party’s upcoming presidential primary.
The meeting brought together representatives of the NPP’s National Executive Committee as well as representatives of the various presidential aspirants.
Discussions focused on security arrangements and overall preparedness for the primary scheduled for Saturday, January 31, 2026.
The engagement aimed at ensuring that the internal election is conducted in a free, fair, transparent, credible and peaceful manner.
During the meeting, the Inspector-General of Police assured participants of the security services’ commitment to delivering a credible and incident-free electoral process.
He emphasised the importance of collaboration among all stakeholders to guarantee the success of the exercise.
Participants at the meeting expressed satisfaction with the work and conduct of the Presidential Elections Committee so far, commending its efforts in managing the preparatory processes.
The NPP reaffirmed its commitment to upholding democratic principles and ensuring a transparent, credible and fair presidential primary.
