NPP parliamentary primaries: Calm restored to Okaikoi North as Evalue-Ajomoro-Gwira election cancelled

Peace has been restored in Okaikwei North following a disturbance on Saturday morning, sparked by foreign delegates attempting to vote in the ongoing parliamentary primaries.
Delegates in the Okaikwei Municipality, upon noticing the foreign delegates' voting attempt, engaged in an altercation, prompting police intervention to diffuse the situation.
As part of the NPP's nationwide parliamentary primaries in orphan constituencies, delegates are casting their votes in 111 constituencies. Voting commenced at 7 am in various centres, with about 850 delegates expected to participate in Okaikwei North, where six aspirants vie for the parliamentary candidacy.
Meanwhile, the Evalue-Ajomoro-Gwira NPP election in the Western Region has been cancelled due to disagreements over the polling centre.
Originally scheduled at Gwira-Bamiako, the Municipal Security Council advised a neutral location in Ellembelle, leading to the cancellation amid alleged confusion over two different centres in Gwira-Bamianko and Axim.
The Western Regional NPP Secretary expressed frustration, leading to an indefinite postponement caused by party polarization.
