NPP sets September 19 for election of national officers
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has fixed Saturday, September 19, 2026, as the date for the election of its national officers at the party's National Delegates Conference.
In a statement dated July 8, 2026, and signed by General Secretary Justin Kodua Frimpong, the party said delegates would elect national officers in accordance with Article 10(1) of the NPP Constitution.
The statement said the decision was taken by the National Executive Committee (NEC) and subsequently approved by the National Council at their respective meetings held on Thursday, June 25, 2026.
Ahead of the conference, the General Secretary, acting under Article 19(2) of the party's constitution, has invited proposals for amendments to the NPP Constitution.
The party directed that all proposed amendments be submitted electronically to the Office of the General Secretary at the party's national headquarters via [email protected].
It said the deadline for submitting proposals is Friday, July 17, 2026.
The NPP encouraged members and stakeholders to participate in the constitutional review process, stating that their proposals would help strengthen the party's structures, enhance internal democratic processes and promote effective governance.
The statement added that as preparations continue for the National Delegates Conference, the party remains committed to constitutionalism, internal democracy and the rule of law while ensuring adherence to its constitution and democratic traditions.
