Oti region will get it's fair share of development – President Mahama

President John Dramani Mahama has reaffirmed his government’s commitment to undertaking key development projects in the Oti Region to spur growth and improve livelihoods.
Speaking at a durbar of chiefs and people in Dambai as part of his “Thank You Tour” of the region on Friday, the President announced that preparatory works had begun for the construction of a bridge over the Oti River at Dambai.
He assured the gathering that construction of the much-anticipated project would commence before the end of 2025.
“This bridge will be a major step forward in opening up the region and enhancing access to markets, education, and health services,” President Mahama stated.
He also used the occasion to address ongoing tribal tensions in the Nkwanta South Municipality, urging all factions to embrace peace and dialogue.
The President stressed that lasting development cannot take place in a climate of conflict.
“No community or region can progress without peace,” he said.
“I call on the leaders of the various tribes to come together and engage in dialogue.
Let us put our differences aside and work towards unity and development'', he concluded.
