Parliament resumes from recess today
Parliament is expected to resume from recess today, Tuesday, 6 June 2023, for the Second Meeting of the Third Session.
The House adjourned sine die for the Easter festivities in March 2023 after passing three revenue bills.
It is expected that there will be intense debates and discussions on various issues including the anti-LGBTQ Bill and the CI for the conduct of elections 2024.
The Appointments Committee of Parliament would also present its report on the vetting of the Chief Justice nominee, Justice Gertrude Torkornoo, before the house for consideration and approval.
The MP-elect for Kumawu Ernest Yaw Anim is also expected to be sworn in to officially begin work as a legislator.
