President Akufo-Addo calls for unity in final New Year message to Ghanaians

In his final New Year message as President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has urged Ghanaians to embrace unity and collaboration as the nation enters 2025.
Reflecting on the challenges and achievements of his presidency, President Akufo-Addo expressed hope for a brighter future, emphasizing that collective effort is key to Ghana's success.
“May 2025 bring our families joy, peace, and abundant blessings.
May our homes be filled with laughter, our communities with unity, and our nation with prosperity,” he said.
He encouraged Ghanaians to approach the New Year with renewed determination and optimism, underscoring the importance of togetherness in overcoming obstacles and building a stronger, more prosperous nation.
The President commended Ghanaians for their role in upholding democracy and maintaining peace during his tenure. However, he lamented the recent post-election violence, describing it as a stain on Ghana’s democratic record.
“The post-election violence we witnessed should never be repeated.
Let us learn from our mistakes and move forward in peace,” he urged.
President Akufo-Addo expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the people of Ghana for their resilience and support throughout his time in office.
“It has been the honour of a lifetime to serve as your President.
Thank you for your trust, your belief in our shared vision, and your unwavering commitment to our country’s progress,” he said.
As my presidency draws to a close, I have faith in the nation’s potential, calling on all Ghanaians to work together in the years ahead.
“Let us step into the New Year with hope in our hearts and determination in our steps, knowing that together there’s nothing we cannot achieve,” he concluded.
