Razak Kojo Opoku aligns with Bryan Acheampong's three-pillar vision for Ghana’s transformation

Dr. Bryan Acheampong, a leading political figure and former Minister for Agriculture, has unveiled a bold, three-pillar strategic vision aimed at transforming Ghana’s socio-economic landscape and positioning the country as a global economic contender.
The plan, dubbed the DBA Transformation Agenda, is anchored on three key pillars: Development in Freedom Policy, Business-Friendly Environment for the Private Sector and Investors, and Advanced Economic Ecosystems.
1. Development in Freedom PolicyAt the core of Dr. Acheampong’s agenda is a commitment to "Development in Freedom," a governance framework rooted in the constitutional objectives of Ghana.
This pillar emphasises strict adherence to the 1992 Constitution, particularly Articles 35 through 40, as well as Chapter Five on Fundamental Human Rights and Chapter Twelve on Media Freedom.
According to Acheampong, national development must not come at the cost of freedom.
His approach will prioritise:
Economic and political freedom
Judicial and media independence
Social and academic liberties
Freedom of choice, expression, and association
National unity, equity, and inclusion
Dr. Acheampong also pledges to promote transparency, fight corruption, ensure law and order, and protect data, territorial, and cyber security.
The policy further proposes collaboration with civil society organisations and think tanks to strengthen public accountability.
2. Business-Friendly Environment for the Private Sector and InvestorsThe second pillar of Dr. Acheampong’s vision focuses on stimulating private sector growth and making Ghana a magnet for foreign investment.
He highlights Article 36(2b & 2c) of the Constitution, which enjoins the state to promote private sector participation in national development.
Key strategies under this pillar include:
Promoting Africapitalism to accelerate job and wealth creation
Strengthening public-private partnerships at no cost to the government
Launching a National Beautification Programme (NBP) to drive tourism and environmental sustainability
Implementing a "No Region Left Behind" policy for equitable development
Stabilising macroeconomic indicators such as inflation, exchange rate, and interest rates to foster a predictable business climate
3. Advanced Economic EcosystemsThe third pillar aims to transform Ghana into an economic powerhouse through diversification and advanced technologies.
Dr. Acheampong proposes substantial investments in:
Digital economic infrastructure, dubbed the Sustainable Digital Economic Revolution (SDER)
Sustainable food and agricultural production to ensure food security and increase exports
Clean and reliable energy systems
Healthcare delivery across all districts
Environmental protection efforts to tackle illegal mining (galamsey)
“Our vision is to position Ghana as a modern, globally competitive economy,” said Dr. Acheampong. “This transformation will create jobs, reduce poverty, and give every Ghanaian a stake in national progress.”
A Bright Future with BryanThe vision was officially outlined by Dr. Razak Kojo Opoku, Founding President of the UP Tradition Institute, who described it as a pragmatic and constitutional roadmap to inclusive development.
“Ghana’s bright future is with Bryan,” he said, adding that the three pillars are grounded in constitutional mandates and designed to uplift every citizen without discrimination.
