Tamale ready for the change NDC is calling for -Twum Barimah
Mr. Twum Barimah, a member of the Communications Team of the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), has shared his observations from the Northern Regional capital, Tamale, indicating that the city is ready for the change the party is advocating in the upcoming elections.
During an interview on Accra 100.5 FM’s live coverage of the NDC 2024 national campaign launch at Jubilee Park in Tamale, hosted by Nana Agyarko, Mr. Barimah expressed that the enthusiasm among the city's residents aligns with the campaign theme: "Change to Reset Ghana."
He noted that the palpable excitement among the people suggests that they are eager for change.
Mr. Barimah urged the electorate to come out in large numbers on December 7 to vote against the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) to facilitate resetting Ghana.
He emphasized that such a reset can only occur through a change in the upcoming elections.
A lawyer by profession, Mr. Barimah criticized the current NPP administration, stating that unemployment has soared despite the NPP's claims of job creation through its one-district-one-factory programme.
He argued that the NPP's defense of employment levels, based on data from National Security and the National Insurance Trust, is misleading, given Ghana's predominantly informal economy.
He accused the NPP of habitually lying to the people and expressed confidence that, this year, Ghanaians are determined to vote out the NPP for the harm they have caused the nation. He lamented that under the current administration, businessmen have been relegated to the role of servants instead of being decision-makers.
Mr. Barimah emphasized that the NDC’s proposal for a 24-hour economy is a game-changer for the many unemployed youth, positioning it as a key solution to the country's economic challenges.
