The National Chairman of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has urged party members who have not yet received government appointments to remain steadfast, loyal, and supportive of President John Dramani Mahama as his administration works to deliver on its mandate.

Speaking during his ongoing three-day “Thank You” tour of the Volta Region, Mr. Asiedu Nketia explained that the number of qualified individuals within the NDC far exceeds the available positions in government, making it impossible to appoint everyone at once.

Addressing party executives and supporters at Anfoega in the North Dayi Constituency, he reminded members that President Mahama’s four-year term — along with the possibility of cabinet reshuffles — provides future opportunities for deserving and committed members to serve.

“It is better to be a floor member in government than to be the same in the opposition,” he stated, urging patience, discipline, and continued dedication to the party’s success.

Mr. Asiedu Nketia commended the dedication and hard work of branch and constituency executives, ward coordinators, cadres, Assembly members, and other local structures that contributed to the NDC’s 2024 electoral victory.

He praised their resilience and unity, suggesting that those who wish to continue in their roles deserve another term due to their proven commitment.

The NDC Chairman further assured members that more job opportunities would soon become available, particularly in the police service and other security agencies, and encouraged qualified party members to apply when recruitment is announced.

Adding his voice, Togbui Geimakpe, Chief of Vakpo (North Dayi, Anfoega), commended the NDC leadership for maintaining close ties with the grassroots and appealed for continued attention to the development needs of the Volta Region.

Mr. Asiedu Nketia reaffirmed the party’s commitment to inclusive governance and equitable national development, pledging to convey the concerns of local communities to the appropriate authorities.
