The Volta Regional Executives of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) have summoned the alleged youth perpetrators and the Ho Central Constituency Executives in connection with the burning of party properties.

The incident, which occurred between 8:00 and 9:00 PM on Tuesday, saw unknown youth allegedly set fire to party property in protest over the exclusion of a nominee from Ho Central in President John Dramani Mahama’s ministerial appointments.

The aggrieved youth stormed the Ho Central Constituency office, located in the Ho Housing area, vandalizing party property before setting it ablaze.

Essential items, including party documents, plastic chairs, tables, and a ceiling fan, were destroyed.

The protest escalated as the youth blocked the main road in front of the office, burning car tyres and creating chaos in the area.

The Ghana National Fire Service in Ho Central swiftly intervened to extinguish the fire and prevent further destruction.

Speaking on the incident, Deputy Regional Communications Officer, Del-Bright Kugbadzor, condemned the youth's actions, describing them as "unprofessional and unnecessary."

"The regional executives have invited the individuals involved for further investigation into what led to their actions," he stated.

He assured party supporters that President Mahama is still in the process of making appointments, urging the youth to seek clarification from party executives rather than resorting to violence.

"The Volta Region is well represented in the President’s government.

We urge everyone to remain patient as appointments are finalized. Those responsible for the destruction will be identified and held accountable," he added.
