Establish AI training modules to enhance teachers' capacity on AI — Domina Attefuah

Dr. Edward Domina Attefuah, Director of Research and Policy Development at Educate Africa Institute, has called for the establishment of AI training modules to enhance teachers' capacity on Artificial Intelligence. Speaking on Good Morning Taadi, a flagship morning show on Taadi FM, Dr. Attefuah emphasised the importance of equipping teachers with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively integrate AI into the classroom.
According to Dr. Attefuah, the integration of AI in education can revolutionise the way students learn and teachers teach.
However, he noted that teachers need to be adequately trained to harness the potential of AI and ensure that students receive the best possible education.
"The teaching fraternity needs to be empowered with the knowledge and skills to harness the potential of AI in education," Dr. Attefuah said.
"Establishing AI training modules for teachers will enable them to stay ahead of the curve and provide students with the skills they need to succeed in an increasingly AI-driven world."
Dr. Attefuah's call to action highlights the growing recognition of AI's role in shaping the future of education.
As AI continues to transform industries and societies, it is essential that educators are equipped to leverage its potential and prepare students for the challenges and opportunities of the future.
Additionally, Dr. Attefuah encouraged parents to play a crucial role in preparing their children for the AI-driven job market.
"Parents should inspire creativity, emotional intelligence, critical thinking, and other essential skills in their wards," he advised.
"By doing so, they will enable their children to remain relevant and thrive in a world where AI is increasingly prevalent.
