Ghana, Zambia launches digital economy talks to boost tech reforms and cross-border partnerships
Ghana and Zambia have opened high-level bilateral talks aimed at deepening cooperation in digital transformation, innovation, and technology-driven economic growth.
The Zambian delegation is led by Minister for Technology and Science, Hon. Felix C. Mutati.
The Ghanaian side is led by Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, Hon. Samuel Nartey George (MP).
Hon. George said Ghana has mobilized key institutions to engage the delegation.
They include the Bank of Ghana, National Communications Authority, National Information Technology Agency, Cyber Security Authority, Data Protection Commission, Ghana Investment Promotion Centre, and the Office of the Registrar of Companies.
The programme features policy dialogues, regulatory meetings, and Business-to-Business (B2B) sessions designed to unlock cross-border opportunities in the digital economy.
Hon. Mutati emphasized the role of government in enabling innovation.
He said the primary responsibility of policymakers is to create an environment that lowers barriers and removes bureaucratic constraints.
He challenged businesses from both countries to help shape reforms that support creativity, innovation, and growth.
Both Ministers expressed confidence that the engagement would strengthen economic ties and position Ghana and Zambia as key players in Africa’s digital transformation agenda.
