2026 World Cup qualifier: Bawumia visits Black Stars

Vice-President Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia has paid a morale-boosting visit to the Black Stars team ahead of their critical 2026 World Cup Qualifier against the Central African Republic (CAR).
The match, set to take place at the Baba Yara Stadium today, Monday, 10 June 2024 is a pivotal fixture for Ghana as they aim to build on their recent success.
The Manager of the Black Stars Otto Addo, is looking to secure a victory that would propel them to nine points from their first four games in Group I.
Sources say the Vice-President also donated an amount of GHS500,000 to the team.
Kickoff time is at 7pm.
A convincing win for the Black Stars will push Ghana to the top of Group I of the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers.
The Black Stars last Thursday beat Maili 2-1 at Stade du 26 Mars in Bamako
Jordan Ayew’s 94th minute goal gave Ghana a 2-1 win against Mali.
Ghana were forced to dig deep for the points after Kamory Doumbia gave Mali the lead in the 45th minute.
Ernest Nuamah leveled matters with a towering header in the 58th minute before Jordan Ayew combined with fellow substitute Abdul Fatawu Issahaku to fire home the winning goal in the 94th minute.
