Black Queens Coach Nora Häuptle has announced a 33-player roster for a training camp in Accra, ahead of an upcoming international friendly against Japan.

The highly anticipated match is set for Saturday, 13 July 2024, at the Kanazawa Go Go Curry Stadium in Tokyo.

Among the invited players are Bay FC’s Princess Marfo, Luton FC defender Bridget Adu, and former FIFA U-17 World Cup Golden Boot winner Mukarama Abdulai.

Also included in the squad are Wasila Diwura Soale, Nina Norshie, Mavis Owusu, Adama Alhassan, and Victoria Osei.

The Black Queens will use this friendly as a crucial preparatory match for the 2024 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), scheduled to take place in Morocco next year.

This game is part of their strategy to build a competitive team for the continental championship.

Meanwhile, the Japanese national team will leverage this match to fine-tune their squad ahead of the Paris Olympic Games in August.

Japan is currently ranked seventh in the world, while Ghana’s Black Queens are ranked sixty-fourth globally and fourth in Africa.
