Black Stars Coach Otto Addo visits injured stars Mohammed Salisu and Ernest Nuamah in France
Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has visited injured defender Mohammed Salisu and midfielder Ernest Nuamah in France, offering encouragement and support as they recover from ACL injuries.
Salisu, a key figure in Ghana’s squad, underwent surgery following an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury sustained during a French Ligue 1 match against Olympique Lyon. Before his injury, he had featured in eight of Ghana’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, scoring two goals.

Addo also met with winger Ernest Nuamah in Lyon.
The Olympique Lyon player is steadily recovering from an ACL injury he sustained in April 2025 during a Ligue 1 clash with Lille.
Nuamah has recently begun gym work as part of his rehabilitation and is expected to return to the pitch soon.
The coach spent time with him discussing Ghana’s World Cup campaign and wishing him a smooth recovery.
Nuamah played five matches and scored two goals in Ghana’s 2026 World Cup qualifying campaign.
Addo’s visits highlight his commitment to team cohesion and player welfare, following similar interactions with Mohammed Kudus and Kwasi Sibo.
The former Borussia Dortmund coach will lead Ghana in its fifth FIFA World Cup appearance, with the Black Stars drawn in Group L alongside Panama, England, and Croatia.
Ghana opens its campaign against Panama in Toronto, before matches against England in Boston and Croatia in Philadelphia.
