Female inmates of Nsawam prison receive safeguarding training

As part of the CAF Women’s Football for Reform Program, a football safeguarding session was organized for female inmates participating in the CAF Licence D Coaching Course at the Nsawam Medium Security Prison by the Safeguarding and Integrity Officer of the Association, Obed Tuffour.
The session focused on the basics of football safeguarding concepts, educating participants on how to protect vulnerable young players from harm and abuse.
The discussion covered various forms of harm and abuse and emphasized on the preventative measures to ensure a safe football environment for young players.
This training was a necessary addition aimed at equipping inmates with the necessary capacity to enhance their job prospects and facilitate their reintegration into society upon release.
By incorporating this session, the program ensures that participants not only gain technical coaching knowledge but also develop the necessary skills to create a safe and supportive environment for young players to thrive in the future and to further shape their careers.
The GFA Foundation, in collaboration with the GFA Technical Department and with technical support from CAF, remains committed to using football as a transformative tool for rehabilitation and social change.
