GFA President Kurt Okraku extends Christmas message of unity, hope
President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Simeon-Okraku, has extended warm Christmas greetings to football stakeholders and the general public, urging Ghanaians to reflect on values that sustain both society and the game of football.
In a Christmas message issued on behalf of the GFA Executive Council, Mr Okraku highlighted love, sacrifice, unity and hope as core principles of the festive season, noting that these same values lie at the heart of football’s enduring ability to unite people across backgrounds, beliefs and generations.
Reflecting on the birth of Christ, the GFA president emphasised humility and gratitude, expressing appreciation to clubs, players, coaches, referees, administrators, sponsors, media partners and supporters for their resilience and commitment to Ghana football throughout the year.
The 2nd Vice-President, Confederation of African Football (CAF), he acknowledged that the year under review came with its share of challenges, alongside notable progress, but stressed that the association remained focused on strengthening its foundations, improving governance, developing talent and restoring confidence within the football ecosystem.
Looking ahead, Mr Okraku expressed optimism about the future of Ghana football, calling for collective responsibility and sustained collaboration to achieve greater success.
He also encouraged stakeholders and the public to use the Christmas season to reconnect with family, show kindness and renew their commitment to unity and fair play, both on and off the pitch.
Mr Okraku concluded by wishing Ghanaians peace, joy and hope for a brighter year ahead.
