GFA announces record GHS2m prize for 2025/26 Premier League winners

Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced a record GHS2 million cash prize for winners of the upcoming 2025/26 Ghana Premier League (GPL) season.
The association revealed financial rewards for 15 positions on the table, with the sum becoming weightier the higher the position.
Full 2025/26 GPL Prize Breakdown:
- 1st: GHC2,000,000
- 2nd: GHC1,000,000
- 3rd: GHC800,000
- 4th: GHC750,000
- 5th: GHC700,000
- 6th: GHC650,000
- 7th: GHC600,000
- 8th: GHC550,000
- 9th: GHC500,000
- 10th: GHC450,000
- 11th: GHC400,000
- 12th: GHC350,000
- 13th: GHC300,000
- 14th: GHC250,000
- 15th: GHC200,000
GFA President Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku explained the structure was designed to improve competitiveness and inspire excellence in the GPL.
He spoke during the association’s 31st Ordinary Congress, where delegates gathered at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram to deliberate on key matters ahead of the new season.
GPL 2025/26 is scheduled to kick off on September 12.
