Golden Arms back home after spectacular performance in Bugaria

Ghana’s national armwrestling team, the Golden Arms, has returned from Albena, Bulgaria, with three medals after an outstanding performance at the 46th World Armwrestling and 27th Para Armwrestling Championship.

The team’s historic achievement — two silver medals and one bronze — was made possible through the support of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA).

The Ghana Armwrestling Federation has expressed its appreciation for the Authority’s role in making the participation possible.

Among the standout performers was Mabel Yeboah, a civilian officer with the Ghana Prisons Service, who made her debut on the world stage.

Miss Yeboah thrilled fans by overpowering opponents from Turkey, Sweden, Germany, France, Italy, Georgia, and Kazakhstan. She secured a bronze medal in the 60kg youth women’s left arm category and went further to win silver in the right arm of the same division.

Immigration Officer Blessed Abeka Nunoo also brought pride to Ghana and the African continent.

After a challenging first day, she adjusted her technique, adopting the hook style, which carried her all the way to the finals. Her resilience earned Ghana another silver medal.

The Golden Arms’ skill and determination drew admiration from coaches and federation officials across the globe.

Their tactical brilliance, strength, and spirited performances consistently earned them standing ovations, making them one of the most talked-about teams of the tournament.
