A/R: Parents besiege KTI Assembly Hall over SHS placement challenges

Scores of parents and their children thronged the Kumasi Technical Institute (KTI) Assembly Hall on Tuesday to seek changes to their Senior High School (SHS) placements under the Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) in the Ashanti Region.
Some parents complained that their children were assigned to schools outside of their preferred choices, while others said their wards had not received any placement at all.
Concerns were also raised about students being placed in schools far from home and assigned as day students instead of boarders, which many families fear will pose challenges for supervision and academic performance.
The frustrations have left parents and students standing in long queues at the centre, hoping to have their grievances addressed and placements corrected.
