The government, through the Ministry of Finance, has authorised the release of GH¢76,466,919.20 to support the Black Stars' participation in the FIFA World Cup.

The funding package is intended to cover the team's preparations for the tournament and fulfil financial commitments made during Ghana's qualification campaign.

According to details of the allocation, GH¢58.9 million, equivalent to US$5 million, has been earmarked for the Black Stars' preparations and participation in the group stage of the World Cup.

The funds are expected to support logistical arrangements, technical preparations and other operational expenses associated with the team's campaign.

In addition, government has released GH¢17.5 million, equivalent to US$1.488 million, to pay outstanding bonuses owed to players and members of the technical team following Ghana's qualification for the tournament.

The payment represents the balance of a performance-based bonus arrangement agreed during the qualifiers. Under the agreement, half of the bonuses were paid during the qualification campaign, while the remaining amount became payable after Ghana secured qualification for the World Cup.

Government said the release of the funds demonstrates its commitment to providing the necessary support for the Black Stars ahead of the tournament.

It added that the funding would help ensure financial stability within the team and support preparations for the competition.

Government has also called on Ghanaians to continue supporting the Black Stars as they represent the country on the global stage.
