Kurt Simeon-Okraku: GFA President chairs FIFA’s maiden Anti-Racism and Anti-Discrimination Committee meeting
FIFA has successfully convened the inaugural meeting of its Anti-Racism and Anti-Discrimination Committee, chaired by President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and Second Vice-President of the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku.
The high-level meeting, held on December 16, 2025, in Doha, Qatar, brought together leading football stakeholders from across the world. Mr Simeon-Okraku delivered the keynote address during the plenary session, presenting the vision, priorities and strategic direction of the newly established 22-member committee.
The FIFA Anti-Racism and Anti-Discrimination Committee is one of the organisation’s most influential governance bodies, mandated to advise on policy, propose reforms and support the implementation of strong and effective anti-racism and anti-discrimination measures throughout global football.
Comprising a diverse and experienced group of football leaders representing all regions, the committee will serve a four-year term. Its mandate includes preventing, investigating and addressing incidents of racism and discrimination across FIFA’s member associations, clubs and competitions.
Under the leadership of Mr Simeon-Okraku, the committee is expected to play a pivotal role in advancing FIFA’s commitment to human rights, diversity, inclusion and fair play. Its work will focus on strengthening institutional frameworks, promoting education and awareness, and ensuring accountability across the global game.
