Quarter-final fixtures confirmed as race for 2026 FIFA World Cup semi-finals begins
The quarter-final line-up for the 2026 FIFA World Cup has been confirmed, with eight teams remaining in contention for a place in the semi-finals.
The last-eight stage begins on Thursday, July 9, when France face Morocco in a repeat of their 2022 World Cup semi-final in Qatar. France won that encounter 2-0 on their way to the final, while Morocco will be seeking a different outcome this time.
The second quarter-final will be played on Friday, July 10, with Spain taking on Belgium in an all-European contest.
Norway will face England on Saturday, July 11, as both sides aim to secure a place in the last four.
The final quarter-final is scheduled for Sunday, July 12, when defending champions Argentina meet Switzerland for the remaining semi-final spot.
The winners of the four quarter-final ties will progress to the semi-finals as the tournament moves closer to the 2026 FIFA World Cup final.
