Sports scientist completes 10,000km solo ride from Germany to Ghana

Believed to be the first solo intercontinental cycling journey by an African, the expedition spanned 15 countries over 103 days, showcasing endurance, resilience, and a deep connection to heritage.
Mr Adjei, who hails from Teshie in the Greater Accra Region, embarked on the remarkable journey to raise funds and awareness for EduSpots, a Ghana-based education charity that supports community-led learning spaces across Africa.
During his visit to the Ga Mantse, Mr Adjei expressed gratitude for the warm reception and reaffirmed his commitment to using sports as a tool for education, cultural pride, and youth empowerment.
“This journey was not just about cycling across continents—it was about reconnecting with my roots, promoting education, and proving that Africans can take on any global challenge with determination and purpose,” he said.
The Ga Mantse, King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, commended Mr Adjei for his courage and contribution to both education and the image of Ghana on the international stage.
The Bike2MyRoots initiative, according to Mr Adjei, will continue to promote cycling, environmental awareness, and educational development, inspiring young Africans to dream boldly and give back to their communities.
