Concerned citizens picket GRA demanding removal of GRA boss

A group calling itself Concerned Citizens of Ghana has staged another protest at the headquarters of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) in the Greater Accra Region demanding that President Akufo-Addo terminate the services of the Commissioner-General of the GRA, Rev Dr Ammishaddai Owusu-Amoah.
The citizens claim that Rev Ammishaddai has exceeded his term limit.
In a press statement, the group disclosed that despite contract extensions until 2021, both Rev Ammishaddai and Ms Julie Essiam have chosen to remain in their positions beyond the established retirement age of 60.
The GRA boss' long stay in office has sparked concerns regarding its adherence to retirement policies.
Mr Charles Akowuah Tuffuor, the spokesperson for the Concerned Citizens of Ghana, said their concerns about the prolonged stay of Rev Ammishaddai Owusu-Amoah and Ms Julie Essiam, Commissioner Responsible for Support Services at GRA in office go beyond their retirement age, urging the president to take decisive action
