Energy Minister highlights link between energy, water, and food at global solar forum
The Minister for Energy and Green Transition, Mr. John Jinapor, has underscored the critical interconnection between energy, water, and food as the three fundamental pillars of human survival and sustainable development.
Speaking at the 8th Session of the International Solar Alliance (ISA) held in India, Mr. Jinapor reminded the global energy community that sustainable progress depends on an integrated approach to managing these vital resources.
“We are reminded of the profound interdependence between energy, water, and food — the three pillars of human survival and sustainable development,” he stated.
Mr. Jinapor’s remarks came as part of Ghana’s ongoing engagement with international partners to accelerate the deployment of renewable energy, promote green innovation, and enhance climate resilience across Africa.
The Minister reaffirmed Ghana’s commitment to advancing its clean energy agenda through strategic collaborations, emphasising that the country’s energy transition plan is designed to ensure universal access to affordable, reliable, and sustainable power while safeguarding food and water security.
The session, attended by global leaders, policymakers, and energy experts, explored pathways for scaling up solar adoption and strengthening partnerships to drive a just and inclusive energy transition.
