President of the Federal Republic of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier arrives in Ghana

Frank-Walter Steinmeier received at the Kotoka Intertional Airport

The President of the Federal Republic of Germany, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, arrived in Ghana on Sunday evening, November 2, 2025, for a three-day state visit.

He was received at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA) by Ghana’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, and the German Ambassador to Ghana, Frederik Landshöft.

President Steinmeier, who is accompanied by a high-level delegation, is expected to hold bilateral discussions with his host, President John Dramani Mahama, at the Jubilee House on Monday, November 3, 2025.

The official programme will begin with the inspection of a full military Guard of Honour at the Forecourt of The Presidency, followed by a closed-door meeting between the two leaders. They will later be joined by their respective delegations for bilateral talks in the Credentials Room.

Discussions will centre on strengthening Ghana-Germany relations, particularly in the areas of trade, investment, technology, and development cooperation.

A State Luncheon will be hosted in honour of President Steinmeier and his delegation at the Presidential Banquet Hall in the afternoon.

On Tuesday, President Steinmeier will travel to Kumasi, where he is expected to pay a courtesy call on the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, and participate in other scheduled engagements before departing later that evening.
