The Minister of Finance, Dr. Casiel Ato Forson, has welcomed the President of the Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa (BADEA), H.E. Abdullah KH Almusaibeeh, to the Ministry of Finance.
During the meeting, Dr. Forson expressed Ghana’s appreciation for BADEA’s longstanding support, particularly in the social sector, which he described as “an investment in the country’s future.”
He stressed the government’s determination to continue investing in the real sector despite current fiscal constraints.
As part of this commitment, he announced that feasibility studies have begun for a new Accra–Kumasi expressway, which is expected to be completed within two and a half years.
Dr. Forson also highlighted Ghana’s improved debt sustainability, noting that future borrowing would be carefully targeted at transformative infrastructure projects.
He expressed optimism about deepening collaboration with BADEA to secure support for the landmark road project.
