President Mahama: NSA farm to be transformed into research facility serving subregion

President John Dramani Mahama has outlined a bold vision for the National Service Authority’s (NSA) poultry farm, describing it as a future model of agricultural excellence for West Africa.
Speaking during a tour of the facility, the president praised the progress made so far.
The farm currently operates at a 70,000-bed capacity, with plans to expand to 100,000 beds.
He emphasised that the project was more than just a poultry farm. According to him, it will serve as a production center, a training ground, and a research facility positioning it as a multi-purpose agricultural institution.
President Mahama stated that the goal was to develop the facility into a comprehensive hub that drove innovation in the agricultural sector, not just in Ghana, but across the region.
As part of his commitment to the project, he announced plans to return to the site with the Minister of Finance to secure funding for critical infrastructure. These include processing plants, hostels, transport vehicles, and solar power installations.
Mahama’s remarks underscored a broader vision to transform agriculture into a pillar of national development and regional leadership.
