Former Member of Parliament for Kumbungu Constituency and lead campaigner for Pan-African Tourism Campaign, Ras Mubarak, has declared his support for the Chief of Staff, Julius Debrah, to lead the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2028 presidential election.

In a Facebook post, Ras Mubarak said that although it is still early in the political calendar, he would not hesitate to back Mr. Debrah should he decide to contest the party’s flagbearership.

He described the Chief of Staff as a dependable figure in Ghanaian politics, using the metaphor of a bicycle wheel to illustrate his point.

“A man who is like the spokes in a wheel. If you know how to ride a bicycle, you would know the functions of the spokes in the wheel.

For those who don’t ride bicycles, the spokes are crucial in supporting the weight of the bike and rider, absorbing shocks, and maintaining the wheel’s structural integrity.

Without the spokes, you don’t have a bicycle,” Mubarak wrote.
