GA/R: NPA to hold 2025 Consumer Week Celebration in Ashaiman
The National Petroleum Authority (NPA) has announced that this year’s Consumer Week Celebration will take place on Monday, November 11, 2025, at the Kofi Nimo Park in Ashaiman.
The annual event, which brings together key stakeholders in the petroleum downstream sector, will be held under the theme, “LPG: A Sustainable Energy for a Better Tomorrow.”
According to the NPA, the 2025 celebration will focus on promoting the safe and sustainable use of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) as part of the government’s broader energy transition agenda.
The event aims to raise public awareness about the importance of LPG as a cleaner and more environmentally friendly fuel alternative.
The celebration will feature interactive exhibitions, safety demonstrations, and educational sessions to sensitise consumers about best practices in LPG usage, handling, and storage.
Representatives from LPG marketing companies, oil marketing firms, and civil society organisations are expected to participate.
Speaking ahead of the event, NPA Chief Executive, Godwin Tamaklo, emphasised the Authority’s commitment to advancing Ghana’s transition to cleaner energy sources while ensuring consumer safety and affordability.
“Our goal is to encourage every household to adopt LPG for cooking and other domestic uses, as it is safer, cleaner, and contributes to environmental sustainability,” he said.
The NPA Consumer Week is an annual initiative aimed at strengthening the relationship between the Authority and petroleum consumers across the country.
It also provides a platform for the NPA to engage the public on policy reforms, safety regulations, and consumer rights within the energy sector.
This year’s edition promises to be one of the most interactive yet, as the NPA seeks to deepen public education and foster nationwide dialogue on the role of LPG in Ghana’s sustainable energy future.
