President Mahama to receive helicopter crash report on Monday
The Mahama administration is poised for a week of significant national events, culminating in the presentation of the highly anticipated 2026 Budget, according to a senior government official.
Felix Ofosu Kwakye, a spokesperson for the government, outlined a packed schedule of what he described as "very important" developments starting Monday.
The week's agenda is headlined by the formal conclusion of the investigation into the tragic August 6th helicopter crash that claimed the lives of several high-ranking officials, including the Defence Minister.
"The report of the August 6 Helicopter tragedy investigation will be presented to the National Security Council tomorrow [Monday]," Mr. Ofosu Kwakye stated.
Following the NSC's review, the government will then make the details of the findings public.
"On Tuesday, the details of the report will be made public at a media briefing," he confirmed, a move expected to provide long-awaited answers to the nation.
Shifting focus to governance and economic initiatives, President John Dramani Mahama will travel to the Ashanti Region on Wednesday to launch a new programme dubbed "Nkɔkɔ Nkitinkiti."
While full details are yet to be disclosed, the launch is set to be a major policy event.
The week will culminate on Thursday with the Finance Minister, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, presenting the 2026 Budget Statement to Parliament.
The budget is being touted by the government as a pivotal economic blueprint.
According to Ofosu Kwakye, the fiscal plan "brims with far-reaching policy initiatives," signalling the administration's key legislative and economic priorities for the coming year.
This sequence of events marks one of the most consequential weeks for the government, addressing a matter of national grief, launching a new social programme, and setting the country's economic course.
