GIPC calls for EU support to strengthen investment facilitation

The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), Mr. Simon Madjie, has called on the European Union (EU) to support efforts to enhance the Centre’s capacity in attracting and facilitating investment into Ghana.
He made the appeal at the 2025 Ghana-EU Partnership Dialogue held in Accra, a high-level engagement aimed at deepening cooperation on trade, investment, and sustainable development.
The dialogue was attended by the President of the Republic, H.E. John Dramani Mahama; the Head of the EU Delegation to Ghana, Mr. Irchad Razaaly; and hosted by the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Mr. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa.
Mr. Madjie underscored the importance of building institutional resilience at GIPC and highlighted ongoing reforms, including the review of the GIPC Act, intended to boost operational efficiency and enhance Ghana’s regulatory environment for investors.
To complement these reforms, he requested technical assistance from the EU, particularly in the form of capacity-building programmes to equip GIPC staff with the skills required to navigate the evolving global investment landscape.
He further appealed for EU support in mapping investment opportunities across Ghana’s regions as part of GIPC’s efforts to deepen regional engagement and promote inclusive local investment.
The EU delegation welcomed the proposals, expressing strong interest in deepening collaboration with Ghana to support mutual goals in investment, trade, and development.
