KIA operating normally amid global IT outage
The Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) has confirmed that Kotoka International Airport (KIA) is operating normally, despite a global IT outage affecting numerous airports and airlines worldwide.
The widespread IT disruption has impacted various industries, including airlines, banks, retail outlets, and broadcasters, resulting in grounded flights and extensive delays, particularly among major U.S. airlines.
Although Microsoft has announced that the issue has been resolved, residual problems persist, with blue error screens continuing to appear on public displays across the U.S. and other regions.
In a statement released on Friday, GACL assured the public that all flights at KIA are operating according to schedule.
"Management of Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) wishes to inform the travelling public that it has taken note of the global IT outage currently affecting some airports and airlines worldwide.
For the record, Kotoka International Airport has NOT been impacted so far, and all flights are operating as scheduled," the statement read.
GACL has assured that it will continue to monitor the situation closely and provide necessary updates to the travelling public as the situation evolves.
