Mahama urges investors to tap opportunities in Afram plains as Ekye Amanfrom bridge takes shape
President John Dramani Mahama has called on Ghanaian investors to take advantage of the economic opportunities expected to emerge from the construction of the new bridge over the Afram River at Ekye Amanfrom.
Speaking during a visit by members of the Kwahu Business Advocacy, the president described the bridge as a transformative project that would accelerate the development of the Afram Plains.
He said the improved connectivity would open up investment opportunities in agriculture, particularly in cashew cultivation and processing, rice production, palm oil, rubber and other agribusiness ventures.
President Mahama also highlighted the area's tourism potential, citing the Volta Lake as a key asset that could support investment in marinas, lakeside resorts and other tourism infrastructure.
According to the president, the bridge is expected to improve access to the area and stimulate economic activity by attracting private investment across multiple sectors.
