The Muntaka Entrepreneurship Hub, a Non-Governmental Organisation dedicated to community empowerment through skills development, has organised a free skills training programme for residents of Asawase in the Ashanti Region, with a strong focus on women’s economic empowerment.

The programme, which was sponsored by the Mastercard Foundation, centred on the production of soap, detergents and antiseptic solutions, equipping participants with practical, marketable skills to support income generation and self-employment.

The training attracted significant participation from community leaders and organised women’s groups, reflecting strong local support for initiatives aimed at improving livelihoods.

At the end of the programme, more than 100 women were successfully trained in soap-making and related production techniques.

Participants were taken through hands-on sessions designed to enable them to start small-scale businesses, create employment opportunities and contribute to household incomes.

Many beneficiaries expressed appreciation for the initiative, describing it as timely and impactful in addressing unemployment and financial challenges within the community.

The initiative highlights the continued commitment of the Member of Parliament for Asawase and Minister for Interior, Mohammed Mubarak Muntaka, to promoting women’s empowerment, entrepreneurship and sustainable livelihoods.

Through the Muntaka Entrepreneurship Hub, similar programmes are expected to be rolled out to further enhance skills development and economic resilience across the constituency.
