NPA, 24-Hour Economy Secretariat advances plans for night economy pilot in Osu
The National Petroleum Authority (NPA) has held a strategic meeting with key stakeholders and executives of the 24-Hour Economy Secretariat to firm up collaboration ahead of the rollout of a Night Economy Pilot Project in the Osu enclave this December.
The meeting, held on November 19, forms part of ongoing measures to operationalise the 24-Hour Economy Initiative within the petroleum downstream industry.
The pilot, according to the officials, is expected to generate practical insights to guide the full nationwide implementation of the initiative.
Chairman of the meeting and Chief Executive of the NPA, Mr. Godwin Kudzo Tameklo Esq., underscored the Authority’s commitment to ensuring a smooth and secure execution of the pilot.
He stressed that security would be a top priority and highlighted the need for strong collaboration with the Ghana Police Service for protection and guidance on safe operational strategies, as well as addressing potential challenges associated with supporting a round-the-clock economy.
Stakeholders present included representatives of Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs), the Chamber of Oil Marketing Companies (COMAC), executives of the 24-Hour Economy Secretariat, and staff of the NPA.
The Night Economy Pilot Project will assess how petroleum service providers can effectively operate under a 24-hour model, ahead of a broader national rollout.
