OSP probes alleged GH¢1.3 billion embezzlement at NPA
The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has launched an investigation into the alleged embezzlement of GH¢1.3 billion from the National Petroleum Authority (NPA).
At a press conference on February 12, 2025, Special Prosecutor Kissi Agyebeng announced that the inquiry will focus on suspected corruption and related offences linked to the misappropriation of funds from the Unified Petroleum Pricing Fund (UPPF)—a fund designed to stabilize petroleum prices nationwide.
Key Individuals Under InvestigationThe probe is primarily targeting four individuals, including:
Jacob Amoah – Coordinator of the UPPF Wendy Ashong Newman – NPA staff Freda Tandoh – NPA staff Mustapha Abdul-Hamid – Former CEO of the NPA"The OSP has commenced investigations into suspected corruption and corruption-related offences concerning an alleged embezzlement of GH¢1.3 billion from the Unified Petroleum Pricing Fund (UPPF) at the National Petroleum Authority (NPA)," Agyebeng stated.
The Special Prosecutor assured the public that his office remains committed to unravelling the circumstances surrounding the missing funds and ensuring that those responsible are held accountable.
