PSC Tema Shipyard requires modern equipment to maintain international standards – Osman Sulemana
The Chief Executive Officer of PSC Tema Shipyard Company Ltd, Osman Sulemana, has underscored the urgent need for modern and adequate equipment to enable the company to renovate its facilities and maintain international standards in shipbuilding and marine engineering.
His remarks followed a working visit to the shipyard by the newly inaugurated board of directors, a day after their official swearing-in.
The visit was aimed at assessing the operational state of the company and identifying priority areas for improvement.
Mr Sulemana expressed confidence in the leadership of the Board Chairman, George Sipa-Adjah Yankey, stating that his expertise and experience would be instrumental in strengthening the company’s logistics, mobilising funding, and positioning the shipyard as a leading maritime hub in Africa.
He also conveyed his satisfaction with the successful inauguration of the board and welcomed their commitment to revitalising the company.
Touching on the state of the company upon his assumption of office, the CEO outlined the existing challenges and the steps being taken to improve operational efficiency and infrastructure.
On his part, Board Chairman George Sipa-Adjah Yankey assured stakeholders, under his supervision and with the support of President John Dramani Mahama, the Tema Shipyard would be transformed into one of the best ship repair and construction facilities on the African continent.
