2Sure accuses Article Wan of refusing to appear in video for their collaboration
Ghanaian musician 2Sure has alleged that Article Wan declined to appear in the music video for their collaboration, a decision he says left him frustrated after investing money and effort into the project.
Speaking on Accra FM's *Akwaaba Drive* with host Sammy Brown, 2Sure recounted the challenges he faced while trying to complete the project, claiming that Article Wan declined to participate in the video shoot because the song had been recorded a long time ago.
According to 2Sure, he worked hard to raise money to finance the collaboration and paid Article Wan before the artiste recorded his verse.
"I hustled before I got the money to do the music. It wasn't like he went to the studio the same day and recorded for free. We paid before he did the song," 2Sure said.
He explained that when preparations were made for the music video, he contacted Article Wan and invited him to take part in the shoot. However, he was allegedly told that the song had been recorded too long ago.
"When I called him to come and do the video, he told me the song had been there for too long. Even if a song was recorded 10 years ago, if you are my friend, you should still support me," he stated.
2Sure further revealed that when his video director reached out to Article Wan, the response was similar, with the singer reportedly indicating that the project was too old.
The artiste questioned the decision, arguing that neither of them could predict which song might become successful and potentially revive an artiste's career.
"Maybe that song is what could give you fame again. We don't know who will help each other one day," he said.
According to 2Sure, the absence of Article Wan on the scheduled shoot day led to financial losses, as members of the production team had already been assembled for the video.
He claimed the situation forced him to bear the cost of the failed production arrangements, adding that the experience left him frustrated and ultimately led him to publicly criticize the artiste.
Despite his disappointment, 2Sure maintained that the song remains a fan favourite, noting that many people describe it as a "banger" whenever it is played.
