Ban on noisemaking: Daddy Lumba's one week observation relocated to Black Star Square

The venue for Highlife icon Daddy Lumba's one week observation has been changed, as it will now take place at the Independence (Black Star) Square, Accra.
Initially planned to take place at University of Ghana Stadium, the change came a notice from the La State Council noted the ban on noisemaking, in line with the annual celebration of the hallowed Homowo festival.
A statement from DL FM noted the date for the event remained Saturday, August 30, 2025, despite the change in venue.
"We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this change may cause and appreciate your understanding," the statement, posted to Facebook, concluded.
During a press conference today, August 28, in Accra, La State Council representatives underlined that effective Monday, August 11, noise-making in the La Traditional Area was banned until Friday, September 5. Thus, they asked Lumba's family to postpone or relocate the one week observation since the original venue was affected by the ban on noisemaking.
