Dzifa Gomashie: MP, Queen Mother appointed minister-designate for MoTAC
The MP for Ketu South constituency, Abla Dzifa Gomashie, has been appointed as the Minister-designate for the Ministry of Tourism, Arts & Culture.
The appointment was made by President John Dramani Mahama on Thursday, January 16, 2025.
Ms Gomashie is a veteran actress, scriptwriter, filmmaker and politician. She served as the Deputy MoTAC Minister between 2013 and 2017.
She, also, is a Queen Mother in the Aflao Traditional Area.
She serves on the Film Federation of the African Union (FEPACI) committee, and is a member and rapporteur for the Reparation of Stolen Artefacts of Africa Committee, ECOWAS.
Abla D. Gomashie will be vetted by parliament in light of her appointment.
The MoTAC lead works with 13 agencies: Ghana Tourism Authority, Ghana Tourism Development Company, National Film Authority, National Commission on Culture, National Theatre, National Folklore Board, Creative Arts Agency, Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park, Dubois Centre, National Museum, Hotel, Catering & Tourism Training Institute, and Bureau of Ghana Languages.
