Election 2024: KOD tells critics 'to F! off' as he doubles down on support for NDC's Mahama

Fashion and media star Kofi Okyere-Darko, professionally called KOD, has noted since he expressed public support for the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), he has lost people he once thought were his friends.
Writing on Facebook, he emphasised he is unfazed.
"Some people will get distant as “FRIENDS” because you have chosen a side to support politically. Meanwhile, you stayed their friends when they made their political choice. At my age, you want to determine my views and beliefs? Eeeeish! You no dey respect like that? Even my family members have different political views, so really…" he said.
In a post-script, the Nineteen57 fashion brand founder noted: "They were NEVER your friends in the first place," adding a statement that hinted at his strong disapproval of the unnamed fellows' actions: "Tell them to F! off."
Since the July 16 post, KOD has advertised the Get Fit & Ready Mahama Walk (July 20);
Unveiled a Nineteen57 t-shirt line for former President John Dramani Mahama called the JDM T-shirt;
Shown photos of himself partaking in the aforementioned walk and advertising other campaign stops around Ghana for Mr Mahama as he seeks a return to power come election day December 7;
And applauded the support of the NDC Rasta Caucus.
Formerly, KOD was a supporter of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP). In September 2023, he announced he would be voting for the NDC in 2024. He said the NPP had disappointed him by not fulfilling their promises to Ghana.
"It could have been better," he told JoyPrime in an interview. "This is supposed to be our best time in Ghana and it is one of the reasons why I supported his [Nana Akufo-Addo] campaign in 2020. I don’t think he has done well."
Kofi Okyere-Darko, thus, proclaimed: "In the next election, I won’t vote for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) but would rather do so for the National Democratic Congress (NDC)."
