Ghana's Afro-Fusion band FRA!'s annual concert dubbed FRA!ternity was a resounding success.

On Saturday, January 21, 2023, the seven-member band hosted their fans, also known as FRA!mily at the Alliance Francaise amphitheatre for FRA!ternity VI (6).

True to their words, the gate was open at 6 PM. The Kpakposhito Ensemble welcomed fans into the venue.

In an exclusive interview with Class News' Prince Benjamin (PB), the Master of Ceremony (MC) for FRA!ternity VI, founding member, composer, media manager and drummer Joshua 'Virgen' Boateng (JVB) revealed that: "The goal of FRA!ternity VI was to promote band culture and that was reflected in our choice of acts for the night. Per the response of our audience we can say that the idea resonated well with them."

Officially, the concert began at 7 PM, Kpakposhito exited after a statement display of talent and Ghanaian music.

The charismatic Afro Punk and Highlife crowd-movers Senku Live took over.

They were followed by the band Adorkor, fronted by the songbird Susan Augustt.

The spooky rockstars Dark Suburb were next.

The Ghanaian marvel which has Europe under its spell, Santrofi, mounted the stage next.

Averagely, guest bands had 20 minutes to perform and the crowd which had the venue spilling over reacted in eruptions of joy.

Before the host band FRA! took to the stage, FRA!ternity VI sponsor Ravens Consulting's Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Dr Dennis Oteng addressed the FRA!mily, which had among them creative arts notables like Sound Engineer Fred Kyei Mensah, Actress Beverly Afaglo, Cartoonist Bright Ackwerh and two-time Grammy nominated Afro Roots star Rocky Dawuni.

Donning luminescent glasses, FRA! was the last band and exclamation point for the night. Patrons belted out their new hit 'Odoyewu' and others like 'Taking Over' and 'Meko'. Also, they had on the multi-talented singer-songwriter and hit record producer Reynolds the Gentleman for their 'Happy Yourself' hit; performed a yet-to-be released inspirational song with RnB/Jazz/Soul vocalist and guitarist Kyei Mensah and the crowd went rapturous when another unreleased piece with Hiplife/Azonto influences was teased with Gospel singer, cheerleader and dancer Thousand leading the band.

JVB believes the event was a testament to the power of live band artistry.

"We have always wanted to redefine live music and last night was like our first step on the moon in that regard. The turn out was massive and the audience danced and sang along to each song performed by all the various acts billed to perform. This is proof that organic live music can be attractive if packaged well," he said.

The one responsible for FRA!'s compositions, songwriting and music production, he also revealed that: "Our forthcoming album has already been completed and will be released in the middle of this year.

"The new tracks recorded that night, on the other hand, could be published as singles or as part of a future project. We'll have to consider when it'ss the best moment to release them. Fans should keep their fingers crossed since we might surprise them shortly."

The German-based Delicious Tunes signees after their album release mid-2023, will be embarking on a tour in Europe and are hopeful to take FRA!ternity to another region in Ghana by close of the year.

"Any event organizers in other regions who want to work with us to bring the FRA!ternity Concert to their city should get in touch," Virgen concluded.

Monday, January 23, the band thanked the FRA!mily on Facebook.
