Ministry of Defence holds quarter guard ceremony to promote military discipline and ethics

As part of ongoing efforts to instil regimentation and uphold military ethics among troops stationed at The Square, the Ministry of Defence has held a special quarter guard ceremony at its forecourt in Accra.
The colourful parade was reviewed by the Deputy Minister for Defence, Mr. Ernest Brogya Genfi, who underscored the importance of maintaining discipline, professionalism, and respect for military tradition within the Ghana Armed Forces.
The event, graced by the Armed Forces Central Band, showcased the precision, coordination, and ceremonial excellence that have become hallmarks of the Ghana Armed Forces.
The stirring tunes performed by the band added splendour to the occasion, reflecting the pride and dedication of the troops.
Addressing the parade, Mr Brogya Genfi commended the participating officers and soldiers for their commitment to duty and adherence to military values.
He emphasised that such ceremonies are vital in reinforcing the standards of discipline and loyalty expected of personnel within the defence establishment.
He further noted that the Ministry remains committed to initiatives that promote professionalism and morale among service members, as these are essential to safeguarding national security and upholding Ghana’s long-standing reputation as a pillar of stability in the sub-region.
The quarter guard ceremony formed part of the Ministry’s broader programme to strengthen military culture, foster esprit de corps, and celebrate the traditions that underpin the Ghana Armed Forces’ operational excellence.
