I had an attack which got me paralysed'-Gospel artist reveals
Renowned Ghanaian gospel musician, Rama Antwi, has bravely shared her struggles with paralysis, revealing that she has been living with the debilitating condition for two to three years.
In an emotional interview on Accra-based No1 FM's flagship gospel showbiz programme hosted by Teller Dee, Rama Antwi opened up about the physical challenges she has faced.
She made it known that making songs is not easy in terms of finances and physical strength.
Rama Antwi explained that her condition has significantly impacted her mobility, making it difficult for her to walk or stand for extended periods.
"If you see most of my worship sessions, I sit before singing... I couldn't walk well," she shared.
The gospel singer attributed her condition to an attack she experienced not long after the death of “Nii”, which has left her with limited strength.
Despite her struggles, Rama Antwi credits God for giving her the strength to perform on stage.
"I get energy for programmes, but when I come home, only God knows," she said, adding that God is her witness.
She recalled a particularly challenging incident in Tahillah 2023 when she couldn’t walk and had to wear socks to the stage of the event.
And relying on someone to help her sit during a press lunch.
Rama Antwi expressed gratitude for the support she has received, stating that most people are unaware of her struggles.
Her story has resonated with many, highlighting the challenges that artists face behind the scenes.
